This Sidra variety coffee is grown at the Hakuna Matata plot of Finca Maputo in the Pichincha region of Ecuador, at an altitude of 1400-1600 meters. It undergoes a traditional honey process, involving a 24-hour cool underwater fermentation followed by drying on raised beds. The flavor profile is bright and sweet, featuring notes of purple grape, passionfruit, nectarine, honeydew melon, blackcurrant, and lemon-lime soda, with a white sugar sweetness reminiscent of grape jelly and passionfruit curd.
Scenery Coffee Roasters was founded in London in 2023 by a trio with a combined three decades of experience in the specialty coffee industry. They roast on a Loring S35, producing on set days and holding coffee in airtight bulk storage before bagging, a workflow designed around freshness and consistency. Sourcing is forward looking: Scenery works with importers to purchase coffee early while it is still at origin, releasing lots as they land in the UK. All furniture in the space is upcycled, and the approach to materials follows the same minimal intervention philosophy that guides the roasting. Scenery was named a Sprudge Notable Roaster for 2025 and won Sprudge Best Design/Packaging in 2024.
