Mahiber is a dry processed (natural) coffee from the Guji region of Ethiopia, grown at 2,000-2,178 meters above sea level. The varieties JARC 74110 and JARC 74112 are cultivated, yielding a coffee with flavor notes of red berries, chocolate, and florals. It is roasted to a medium level (3/5).
Boon Boona is the real deal if you want to connect with where coffee actually comes. Founded by Efrem Fesaha after a trip to Eritrea, the roastery bridges Seattle’s coffee scene with the East African community rituals he grew up around. They source exclusively from African producers, often prioritizing women-owned farms, so you know your money is going to the right place. It’s a way to drink amazing coffee while supporting a business that treats the bean (and the people who grow it) with total respect.
