This coffee comes from the Gikirima washing station, located on the border between the Kirinyaga and Embu districts in Kenya, on the southern side of Mount Kenya. The station sits at 1,800 meters above sea level, with farms reaching up to 2,000 meters, in the Kibugu, Embu region. It features Bourbon-type varieties including SL-28, Ruiru 11, and Batian, and is processed using the washed (wet) method, involving disc depulping, 24-hour fermentation, and drying on raised beds for 1–2 weeks. "AB" refers to a medium bean size (15/64" to 17/64"). The flavor profile includes blueberry, lemon, rooibos, dried plum, brown sugar, orange marmalade, red fruits, grape, raw sugar, saffron, ginger, and turmeric, with a bright acidity and aromatic spice finish. Ideal for pour-over and filter brewing methods.
