Handege is a processing station operated by the prestigious Riitho Cooperative Society, located in the lush hills of Kiambu County, Kenya, at 1,700–1,800 meters above sea level. The region's fertile red volcanic soil supports slow cherry maturation. Ripe cherries are hand-sorted, pulped, fermented for 12–16 hours, and washed with fresh river and rainwater. Beans are sun-dried on African beds for 14–20 days. Varieties include SL-28, SL-34, Ruiru-11, and Batian. Tasting notes feature tomato, grapefruit, pomegranate, raisin, with juicy and balanced character.
