This AA Top grade coffee is from Kenya's Kirinyaga County near the villages of Gitumbi, Kirunyuini, Kerere and Kaboia. Processed at KIRI Coffee Factory, it is produced by 1,200 smallholder farmers at 1,450 meters altitude on red volcanic soil. The coffee is grown in varieties Ruiru 11, SL-28, and SL-34. Hand-picked cherries are washed, fermented overnight, and sun-dried on African beds for 7-15 days. The 2024/2025 harvest features flavor notes of blackcurrant, rhubarb, almond, medium body, and fruity characteristics. The beans are size graded 17/18.
