This coffee is from Kenya, specifically from Kirinyaga County near the villages of Gitumbi, Kirunyuini, Kerere, and Kaboia. It is processed at the KIRI Coffee Factory washing station, built in 1997, which serves 1,200 smallholder farmers. The coffee is grown at 1450 meters altitude in red volcanic soil with average temperatures of 13-24°C. Varieties include Ruiru 11, SL-28, and SL-34. Processing uses the washed method with overnight fermentation, then sun-dried on African beds for 7-15 days. Graded as AA Top with screen size 17/18. Harvest is from the 2024/2025 season. Flavor notes include blackcurrant, rhubarb, almond, with medium body and fruity character.
