A decaffeinated Colombian coffee from Huila (mostly Pitalito) grown by small producers at 1,700 m. Varieties listed are Colombia and Castillo; the decaffeination uses a sugar-cane (ethyl acetate) water process at Descafecol. Espresso-roasted with a creamy body and medium lactic acidity, the cup is clean and sweet with tasting notes of cocoa, red fruit and molasses. Recommended for espresso, moka and French press.
Co-founded by Carlos Moral, whose coffee lineage traces back to his father Rafa's 1979 establishment of Mare Terra coffee imports, Hidden Coffee Roasters emerged from a dynasty dedicated to transforming Spain's understanding of specialty coffee. Operating from Barcelona's Les Corts neighborhood on a Giesen roaster, they represent a new generation of Spanish roasters who prioritize producer relationships and value chain transparency.
