About This Coffee

A single-origin microlot from Nigusse Nare, a smallholder farmer in Uraga, Guji Zone, Ethiopia, at approximately 2,100 meters altitude. The coffee is naturally processed (dried on raised beds) using local heirloom varieties and organic, shade-grown methods. Cupped at 89.75 points by a licensed Q Grader, this coffee displays complex tropical fruit character with kyoho grape, lychee, longan, melon, and guava notes. Medium-high acidity with phosphoric character, medium-high body, and a tropical sweet aftertaste.

Arkib Kopi was founded in 2018 by Helmi, a certified Q grader whose training in Japan shaped both his palate and his approach to presentation. The roastery operates from its "Ibu Sawat" (Mothership) facility in Kuala Lumpur, housing a custom 1kg machine alongside a 15kg Cogen roaster for production batches. Sourcing follows a dual model: direct trade with producers to secure top lots and a sustainable partnership with Falcon Coffee Trader that prioritizes social and environmental impact. The lineup is organized into three collections, FANSI for omni roast, RUTIN for filter, and MANIS for espresso, each highlighting seasonal origins from Rwanda, Panama, Indonesia, and Brazil. Arkib also runs weekend public cupping sessions at its flagship, reinforcing its role as a community hub for specialty coffee education in Malaysia.
