This single-origin coffee is grown in the Cauca region of Colombia at an altitude of 1960 meters. It is a Caturra variety processed using an innovative natural method involving controlled fermentation and thermal shock. The flavor profile is characterized by notes of fruit cocktail, fig, cherry cordial, and pomegranate. This coffee offers a delicate, citrus-forward, and wine-like experience, resulting from a meticulous drying process in a dehumidification system that preserves its aromatic precursors.
Evan Inatome and his brother in law Winston Justice, a former Philadelphia Eagles offensive tackle, founded Elixr Coffee in 2010 on Walnut Street in Center City Philadelphia. Elixr specializes in lighter roasted coffees with a focus on sourcing quality, and holds Fair Trade and Organic certifications. The team's competitive record includes a second place finish at the 2018 U.S. Barista Championship and multiple top ten finishes at U.S. Roasting Championship events.
