Repetition Coffee

About This Coffee

This washed coffee is produced by ASMUCAFE (Asociación de Mujeres Agropecuarias de Uribe), a women-owned collective in El Tambo, Cauca, Colombia. The coffee undergoes a distinctive double-fermentation method: cherries rest in loading hoppers before being depulped and fermented again in open tanks, then thoroughly washed and dried in sun or parabolic dryers. The coffee features tasting notes of berries, icing, and cacao. Through the Women Coffee Producers program, a gender-equity premium supports empowerment projects within the association.

Repetition Coffee

Amy Pope founded Repetition Coffee in 2014 out of her garage in Lawrence, Kansas, after spending a decade living and working abroad in Japan, Spain, Türkiye, and France. That international perspective, combined with a master's degree in international relations focused on trade, shapes how she approaches sourcing: directly from ethical producers, with a particular focus on farms and cooperatives owned and run by women. The roastery now operates from a 4,500 square foot facility powered entirely by solar panels, with production running on a Diedrich IR 12 roaster. Repetition earned a bronze medal at the North American Golden Bean Competition and a 2019 Diedrich Roasters Scholarship from the Coffee Roasters Guild. The name says it all: quality comes from doing the work again and again.
