This coffee is a washed Bourbon variety from the Gicumbi region of Rwanda, grown at 1450 meters altitude on volcanic soils by a women-led farm project. The coffee offers flavor notes of rhubarb, lime, and Ceylon tea, with a light to medium roast profile suitable for filter brewing. It is sustainably and fairly traded Arabica, processed by washing and dried for about 14 days.
Originally established in 2002 by founders Sascha Spittel and Robert Stock as Tres Cabezas and rebranded to 19grams in 2018, this Berlin-based roastery has been a pioneer in bringing specialty coffee to Germany when the movement was barely recognized in the country.
