Jake Underwood founded Underwood Coffee in Duluth, Minnesota, after spending roughly a decade in specialty coffee, including a stint as production roaster at Spyhouse Coffee Roasters in Minneapolis. The roastery sources responsibly grown coffees from producers and importers Underwood trusts, with offerings spanning single origins from Colombia, Kenya, and Peru alongside house blends. The approach is intentional and approachable: good coffee presented without pretension. Underwood also operates a dedicated roasters choice subscription for customers who want to follow the roaster's palate.
