Santo Grão

Brazil

Santo Grão was established in 2003 in São Paulo by Marco Kerkmeester, a New Zealander who left a decade long career as a marketing director at IBM Asia Pacific to enter the specialty coffee world. The company operates a central roastery in Cotia, in the greater São Paulo area, processing around 20 tons of coffee per month. Sourcing focuses on Brazilian growing regions including Caparaó, Sul de Minas, Cerrado Mineiro, and Alta Mogiana, with roasting guided by consultant Silvia Magalhães, a former sixth place finisher at the World Barista Championship. Kerkmeester's approach blends analytical business discipline with a genuine dedication to showcasing the diversity of Brazilian coffee, and the roastery offers hands on experiences where visitors can roast beans alongside the team. Santo Grão has grown into one of São Paulo's most recognized specialty coffee names, with additional locations in Curitiba.
