This natural processed coffee comes from A Lel Chaung Village in Myanmar's Shan State. The village has 160 households that all sell their cherries to the A Lel Chaung Specialty Coffee Production Group. In 2017, the community participated in a USAID project focused on specialty coffee production, with access to new technologies including drying tables and moisture meters. The coffee group pays excellent prices to farmers and earmarks 10% of profits for community improvement including healthcare, infrastructure, and education. A Lel Chaung is part of the Shwe Taung Thu Coffee group. The coffee is described as bright, clean, and complex.
