Cracker Jack Coffee Co.

About This Coffee

This coffee is sourced from the Guji region in southern Ethiopia, specifically from the Shakiso area at an altitude of 2150 meters. Produced by local farmers, it consists of JARC varieties and indigenous heirloom cultivars. The coffee is processed using the red honey method, which enhances sweetness and complexity. In the cup, it offers a vibrant profile featuring notes of pineapple, nectarine, and Earl Grey tea. This versatile coffee is suitable for both espresso and filter brewing methods, balancing tropical fruit acidity with elegant, tea-like aromatics.

Cracker Jack Coffee Co.

Hajdu Bazsi and Agocs Reka launched Cracker Jack Coffee Co. around 2020 in Pecs, Hungary. Bazsi brought seven to eight years of coffee experience built alongside his university studies. The timing was challenging, but Pecs proved receptive to the venture. Sourcing prioritizes organic, biodynamic, and bio certified production methods, and the team works only with importers that do not exploit producers. The current offering includes Brazilian lots from Pocos de Caldas, which Bazsi describes as a gateway into specialty, and a dry processed Costa Rica San Francisco. The cafe and roastery share a philosophy of not over mystifying coffee: let the customer decide how much of the story they want, and never make the drink feel more complicated than it needs to be.
