This coffee is a decaffeinated single-origin from Costa Rica's Tarrazu region, sourced from various smallholder farms. It is processed using a washed method with sun drying and medium roast level. The cup is full-bodied, smooth, and bright with flavor notes of apple and nuts, exhibiting medium acidity.
Volcanica Coffee began in 2004 when Costa Rican-born Maurice Contreras started importing richly flavored beans from volcanic regions right out of his garage. What began as a side passion soon grew into a family-run specialty roaster, roasting on demand in Atlanta and sending each batch out within a day. Their approach is simple, unyielding: showcase terroir-driven, exotic single-origin beans from volcanic soils, roast them with care, and ship only when they’re at their freshest.
