This is a blend containing 10% Kona Coffee from Hawaii and 90% other coffees from Brazil and Costa Rica. Processing is Washed; roast is Medium. Flavor notes are Floral, Citrus, and Cocoa. Shade grown; acidity described as lower. Kona origin is North and South Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii, cultivated at 1,500 to 2,000 feet above sea level.
Volcanica Coffee began in 2004 when Costa Rican-born Maurice Contreras started importing richly flavored beans from volcanic regions right out of his garage. What began as a side passion soon grew into a family-run specialty roaster, roasting on demand in Atlanta and sending each batch out within a day.
